Rugby clinic: Macquarie Bank Sports

South Sea Horizons was involved in organising the inaugural Macquarie Bank Sports tour to PNG in November 2007. The tour program involved a team of employees from Macquarie Bank in Sydney participating in the MRDC PNG Rugby Sevens.

The team conducted two Rugby clinics for local youths at Bava Park in Port Moresby and at Sacred Heart Primary School in the volcanic town of Rabaul. A total of 300 local students were coached the basic skills and techniques of Rugby Union and constantly reminded about the importance education, sport and living healthy lifestyles.

The program will be conducted on an annual basis with the tour to PNG in 2008 bringing the Macquarie Bank Sports team to Tol and Karlai village community schools to conduct Rugby Union clinics.
