Diving Tours

PNG is home to some of the world's most spectacular diving and is known as the 'underwater photographer's paradise.' PNG waters are believed to have up to twice as many marine species as the waters of the Red Sea and up to five times as many as the Caribbean.

SSH Divers will enjoy a huge diversity of dive sites in Rabaul including barrier reefs, coral walls (drop off), and coral gardens, patch reefs, fringing reefs, sea grass beds, coral atolls, and wreck dive sites. The wreck sites provide a collection of ships, aircraft and submarine wrecks from World War II.

The average water temperature in the Bismarck Sea ranges between 25 degrees and 29 degrees Celcius. One can dive in Papua New Guinea all year round, with the high season generally from May to November.

SSH divers are accommodated at the beautiful Rapopo Plantation Resort (Rabaul) and with the dive shop and operated situated on the resort vacinity, so our divers can launch straight into the water from the front door step of the hotel suite.

Rabaul 7 Days/6 Nights

This amount of dives is enough to promote you to local diver status.

Rabaul Open Water Dive Course 9 days/8 Nights

With our trusted dive operator in Rabaul being the only Instructor level dive operator in the province, SSH have chosen to design this package to allow novice divers to become qualified open water divers during their visit to Rabaul.

This package allows our learned diver to also experience Rabaul on our SSH land tour visiting the local fruit and vegetable markets, World War II relics and the fascinating Rabaul volcanic caldera.

What better way to learn to dive in the tropical waters of Rabaul!
