Apart from surfing some amazing waves, sunset trawling for dinner, relaxing in our favorite hammock, eating the girls home cooked meals and delving into PNG's beautiful culture - its where we got engaged! Being so far from the world we live, we were reminded of life's simple pleasures and forgotten beauty. We spent 2 weeks on Tunung Island where we were all made to feel like family making it extremely hard to leave. We have both travelled to many places however Clem's place offered us an experience like no other. In particular visiting islands that we have surfed their break to thank them. The day we left we visited the island which was visited most and left a family who we had got to know our mal. They had told us that they wanted to learn to surf but didn't have a board. We definitely hope to revisit in the near future.

‘I headed to PNG with a bunch of mates to get some waves and sun. Soon after arriving and meeting the people we realised we were going to get a lot more than that. Straight off the plane the locals were making us a feel at home, chatting to us like we were old friends. At Clem’s the accommodation was basic but all you needed, the food was great ( Sashimi, Crabs, Lobsters from the sea to your plate in minutes) the people couldn’t have been nicer and the waves, fishing etc exceptional. This is a must do trip for any surfer, fisherman or someone looking for an amazingly relaxing tropical island getaway. Waves are well worth it we had 5 days of awesome waves we may have been lucky but happy to take that’

‘I went to PNG on a surf expidition with little or no idea of what to expect. I have travelled a bit but nothing could have prepared me for the scenery, beaches, culture, waves and best of all local people we were exposed to. South Sea Horizons made to feel right at home at Clem’s place. We met and interacted with the locals daily and spent our time surfing, fishing,Snorkelling and chilling around Clem's Place Tunung. Besides the waves the highlight was the fresh sashimi and snorkelling on the 200ft wreck, amazing. This trip is for people looking for something different, a bit of adventure and great waves and activities. We surfed perfect waves every day with only the crew of 5 we were with plus the local guys who came out with us. Perfect sunset waves with tropical islands in the background, only your mates out with a few locals learning to surf is a surfers must do. A specail thanks to Al from South Sea Horizons, Clem and especially Sophie and Elsie who served execptional food all week. I will be coming back." Will Hunt|UBS AG|Investment Products & Services|Hong Kong"PNG represents one of the world's final frontiers of untouched natural beauty. Locations such as Clem's provide the opportunity to experience the amazing generousity and warmth of this spectacular country and friendly people. I have never seen waves like that with absolutely noone on them. It is easy to imagine Clem's place as an untouched Fiji - before the arrival of mass tourism!" Daniel Burton- Manly Australia
"Subliminal bliss, a relaxing menagerie of turquoise waves and an ocean embodying an array of tropical sea life amid a graveyard of WW2 wrecks. Blend that with a backdrop of mountainous serenity amidst a vibe of welcoming relaxation and breakfast is served...PNG style."

"For me Clems place was an exciting adventure, although it was more than crystal clear warm water and fun waves, more than great fishing, drinking cold beers at sunset and dining on beautiful fresh lobster. Clems place to me, was just like being welcomed home by family. The hospitality given by Clem and Sophie is second to none. My memories of Clems place and its amazing people I will keep fondly forever." |
